Thank you for your interest in The Powder Room and congratulations on your big day! At The Powder Room we offer high quality, professional makeup services for weddings and events. Katrina is the owner and head artist who will be your point of contact for any questions! Below you will find FAQ’s. If there is something we missed, feel free to ask.




-Makeup Pricing: how much?


$155 Makeup for Bride

$135 per additional makeup service (i.e. bridal party, wedding attendants, family members, etc.)


Prices include airbrush makeup, strip lashes, and travel*


-The price is still the same if you opt out of airbrush, or if you decide you don’t need/want lashes.

-Minimum number of services/total cost required for booking is: three (3) and/or $425.

-18% gratuity will be added to invoices for parties of five (5) or more.

*Travel is included up to 30 miles 

*Pricing is specific to The Powder Room only. If your services exceed what we can accommodate and you have to book a separate artist, you will be responsible to pay their pricing and to pay them separately.



-What is Airbrush Makeup?

Airbrush makeup is a water resistant liquid that is sprayed with a mini air compressor as the foundation. The spray technique allows for adjustable coverage to either achieve a soft, natural, glowy coverage or a full, matte coverage. Airbrush is breathable and super light so either coverage you choose, it will not feel cakey or heavy. Traditional makeup lasts from 6-8 hours where airbrush makeup lasts 12-16+ and will not require touchups (if your skin is on the oilier side, then just a little bit of powder will be all you need).



-Do you do hair?

The Powder Room is a make-up focused salon but we do have a list of recommended vendors that we can refer you to!



-Do you have a portfolio, photos, or Instagram?

-Can we do a trial?

Trial sessions are not required but highly recommended. This session allows us to meet and form a relationship, learn each other’s makeup styles, and get an idea for your day of look. Pricing for a Trial Session is $155 and includes consultation up to an hour and finishes with a full face of makeup. We recommend doing this a few months before the wedding as styles and minds can change. But there are no rules! We have done trials as early as 9 months in order to use makeup for engagement photos and as soon as the day before the wedding for the rehearsal dinner.



-How many services can you do?

We provide services for the bride and bridal party! A final head count of services will be taken sixty (60) days prior to your wedding date.

There is a minimum for all bookings of three services and/or $425.


-Can you come to us?

Yes! We do on location services.  Travel/set up costs are included and is no extra cost.  

*Travel is covered up to a 30-mile radius. Anything further may be an additional cost.



-How long does it take for day of makeup?

Typically we book 45 min per face, 60 min for the Bride. If you have any photos that will be taken before the wedding, we will need to know what time your photographer would like you ready and we will count backwards from there depending on how many services to get our starting time.



-How long does the makeup last?

If we are using the airbrush makeup there is no need to worry! Airbrush makeup is water, sweat and tear resistant and will last 12-16 hours. The longevity will vary depending on skin type... if the skin is normally on the dryer side, it may last a little longer vs oiler skin. Being in Mammoth where we have little to no humidity definitely works in our favor as well. With a bigger bridal party we always reassure the first bridesmaid/makeup that they do not need to worry about going first, the makeup will last! We also add a little extra time towards the end of the timeline for touchups. One thing we do recommend is to find/bring a lipstick to use. Lipstick is the one thing you definitely need to touch up, so it is a good idea to have one to keep with you! 



-How do I book?

If you are interested in booking, we will email you a contract along with an electronic invoice for your non-refundable booking fee. Booking fee is $155, which secures the wedding/event date and covers your (the brides) day of makeup service. Your wedding date is not secure until we have this payment.



-What is the payment/cancellation policy?

The booking fee of $155 secures your wedding date and is non refundable. In the event of a cancellation, the booking fee will act as a cancellation fee. The final service head count is required no later than sixty (60) days prior to the wedding/event date. Once we have the final head count secured, the final invoice will be emailed. The total invoice amount is to be paid two weeks prior to the wedding/event date via electronic invoice by credit card. This eliminates day of stress, and that way we won’t have to chase you down the aisle :) As wedding/event vendors, we reserve the day entirely for you. This is a reservation, not an appointment. You are responsible for payment of the total invoice amount and number of booked services.
